What is Car Seat Concierge?
Car Seat Concierge is a mom-owned business specializing in child passenger safety (aka “car seat”) education for parents, caregivers, and community partners. With over 15 years of combined experience as nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPST), co-owners Kelsey and Rachel found a passion for educating people in car seat safety that only grew stronger as each of them welcomed children of their own.
Now, with over a decade combined experience as nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructors (CPST-I), Kelsey and Rachel are offering their knowledge and expertise through services including private seat checks, group workshops, CPST certification courses, and continuing education units for currently-certified CPST’s.
Through their years of experience they have come to realize one universal truth about car seats and any person who does anything related to car seats; people don’t know what they don’t know. At Car Seat Concierge, we also know that your most precious cargo, that tiny human counting on you for protection, is well worth the time and resources necessary to ensure that every car ride is as safe as it can possibly be.

We will go over pertinent car seat laws, standards in best-practice, and real life scenarios that will help you make the best, most informed decision for everyone in your vehicle.
“The Works” Consult
$95*
Our 60-90 minute private appointment includes installation of one seat in up to two vehicles. We go over everything from recalls, to proper seat installation, to your baby’s unique fit in the car seat; we will even vacuum away all unwanted snack remnants.
Up to 4 adults may be present in one appointment, so if you have additional caregivers who might transport your child in the same seat we’re inspecting at this appointment, bring them out and make sure everyone is on the same page.
Also included with your appointment is one video/phone refresher up to six month after the initial appointment.
“The Works” add on
$40
We can include one additional seat (two seats total—trust us, each seat deserves it’s own chunk of time!) to be inspected in your original “The Works” appointment. If you have more than two seats you would like inspected, please schedule a new appointment for every two additional seats.
Time to Transition
$50*
Is it time to transition baby from an infant carrier to a rear-facing convertible seat? Or is your big kid possibly ready to ride with only the vehicle’s seatbelt? In this 30-60 minute appointment, we will assess your child’s specific car seat needs, arrangement of seats in your vehicle, and/or readiness for moving from one setup to the next. Not sure your child is ready for this appointment? Pull out a tape measure and a scale and check to see how close your kiddo is to reaching the maximum height OR weight capacity for their seat. Still not sure? Give yourself the gift of “peace of mind” and book your appointment.
Booster Basics
$30*
Boosters seem foolproof, but don’t be fooled! There is more to these little lifts than meets the eye. It’s also very common for kids to be eager to ditch the “baby seat” as many call them— where is the love for these blessed boosters?
We will make sure your big kid is actually ready to make the move off the booster and into the care of the vehicle’s safety belt.
*A travel fee will be assessed for appointments over 20 miles outside of metro Bakersfield.
Help on a Budget
We believe that every child passenger deserves to be as safe as possible. We also recognize that pennies are precious, especially these days. We will work with you on a case-by-case basis to find options that will meet your needs while still allowing the moms behind Car Seat Concierge to feed their families.

Parent Workshop
$250/hr
Gather a group of up to 20 parents/caregivers and Car Seat Concierge will provide a one or two hour workshop that covers the basics of car seats and, size/duration/location of class depending, individual assistance with attendees’ specific car seats and vehicles.

The Safe Kids Worldwide Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPSTs) certification course consists of a week-long training comprised of rigorous classroom and practical training, capped by a public, hands-on car seat check event. Certification courses require a secure location that includes classroom and parking lot space. There are nationally-regulated guidelines about student:instructor ratios, so if you’re curious about what we can offer for your group of prospective CPSTs, send us a message and we can explore the options together.
Please note: CPST certification through Safe Kids Worldwide requires a separate fee for each candidate upon registration for the course. Also, Car Seat Concierge will do everything in its power to adequately train each CPST candidate, however any candidate who does not meet the criteria necessary to earn the certification will essentially fail the course and will not be eligible for a refund from Car Seat Concierge. Being a CPST and assisting families with the safety of their children is a responsibility we do not take lightly. Our CPST candidates will need to meet Car Seat Concierge and Safe Kids Worldwide’s standards of excellence in order to earn the designation.
Safe Kids Worldwide Recertification
Part of maintaining CPST/I status is meeting various continuing education unit (CEU) requirements. Below we have offerings to meet each of the requirements. We recognize that CPSTs come from all walks of life and all industries, which is so amazing! But not everyone works in a place where they have access to all the components necessary for maintaining certification. If you work in a place that supports your certification, let us know and we will reach out to see about group rates for any of these recertification services. If it’s just you—a little island of a CPST/I— let us know and we can see about working within your unique budget.

Car Seat Concierge can offer one to six hours of CEUs for groups as small as four and as large as 100.
Seat Check Sign-Offs $40 per CPST/I
Need a CPST-I to sign off on those 5 seat checks? Let’s schedule a time to get together and complete this task in one fell-swoop.
*Please don’t wait until the week before your certification expires to reach out. If your seat check sign-off appointment becomes an “urgent” need, Car Seat Concierge reserves the right to charge $190— the same rate as two full “The Works” appointments.
